Thank you for your willingness to serve. Clarence Olthuis has agreed to be an alternate so if you are not able to usher on your scheduled date you can call him. Just a few reminders; please be alert for visitors and welcome them and hand them a bulletin. Also, give a bulletin to others that may not have their own box: this includes some of our young adults. At 11:07 flash the lights in the Fellowship hall to call the congregation back to the sanctuary. Make sure the pastor has a large glass of water. If there is a baptism, have a large jug of warm water available. Turn the lights on before and after the services. Check the ceiling fans for speed and open and close windows when required. In the summer, the summer fan may need to be turned on, and some doors may need to be opened.
We would like the ushers to also have a presence down stairs during the services. If you could take time to check the hallways and the bathrooms in the basement as well as look in the door windows to the classrooms to see what is happening. This is just a cursory check to have a presence down there. If you could do this once or twice during each service that would be great.
Thank you for volunteering your time, you do help make our worship services run more smoothly and it is always great to be welcomed. Thank you for that, we really appreciate it.
